This Facebook post right here. Just a basic share of the Bob Marley song "Mr. Brown". No big deal, right? Well according to Facebook trying to promote this image is a no no. WHAT?????
Facebook believes this simple little post is not acceptable because "it promotes illegal drugs". Now, as a parent I'm all for responsible censorship. Little kids shouldn't have access to images of someone using heroin or snorting coke off of a stripper, but a social media site that allows videos of decapitation to stay online should understand that this in no way harmful.
Marijuana was legalized in California under Prop 64, which passed November 2016. Making pot LEGAL. I am posting this to show the real stigma surrounding pot users even when its use and distribution has been legalized.
If you are looking to help make a change there are plenty of petitions to sign, groups to join, but maybe the biggest you can do is voice your opinion openly. Responsible marijuana users are still stuck in the shadows. There is a fear of losing a job, being categorized as a lazy stoner, and even worse being labeled an unfit parent. There are plenty of smart, hard working, successful people who smoke. So lets help end the stigma surrounding marijuana use!
