Sex & Mary Jane

There have been a lot of posts recently by some of our favorite cannabis news outlets regarding weed improving the sex lives of woman. So I was intrigued. Does marijuana make sex more pleasurable?

Green Leaf Mommy reached out to our readers to see how marijuana has affected their sex lives. Our poll was simple, Does cannabis help your sex drive?

There were four options to chose from:

  • Yes, it's amazing

  • No way

  • Haven't tried it

  • I am celibate

Out of 540 responses (in less than a week, wow!) 87.5% of our followers agreed that they think sex on marijuana is amazing.

So, how does the poll correspond into my life?

As I have mentioned before on previous posts, since trading in alcohol and anxiety medication for marijuana, my personal relationship with my partner has improved tremendously. I tend to enjoy a small edible before bed every night. It helps me sleep, I am relaxed, and it helps me feel more sexual. I struggle with body issues, and I rarely feel comfortable in my own skin. With marijuana, I no longer feel the anxiety I used to when a light was on during sex. I feel more emotionally connected and sensual during intercourse now. Before, I would only be focusing my attention on what my stomach must look like to my partner, and praying he would finish so I could sleep off the embarrassment and shame that I have for my body. The change in our sex life has been helping to improve our actual relationship as well. We are arguing less and holding hands more often. We have even become a stronger, more solid co-parenting couple.

While most studies on cannabis and libido continue to be testosterone based, it is important for woman to know that their struggle with intimacy is as equally important as mens'. With legalization spreading like wildfire, maybe woman will be able to see their own "Viagra" in the future. Try it out yourself. Smoke a bowl, eat an edible, and get back to enjoying your relationship.
